Shellsburg American Legion Breakfast Canceled until Repairs Can be made

The Shellsburg American Legion has CANCELED breakfast due to storm damage.  We will reopen as soon as repairs are done.  Thanks for all the support from the community.  For questions, call Ed at 389-2682 or Dave at 560-9054.

Shellsburg Community to hold a dinner for their neighbors

The Masonic Lodge Ox Roast at Shellsburg has been canceled for the year. Instead...there will be a free for the Shellsburg community a hot dinner on Sunday, Aug 23. 2:00-5:00 p.m. or while supplies last. It will be TO GO. Meal will be roast beef, mash potatoes, gravy and corn. Freewill donations will also be accepted. 

Shellsburg Share Emergency Food Pantry to hold additional distribution day

Share Food Pantry will be having an extra distribution this Saturday. August 22, from 10 until 11:30 a.m. The regular distribution on August 27th from 4 until 5:30 p.m. will still be held.

It's Tenderloin Tuesday

Don't forget...The Lions Club will be holding their "Tenderloin Tuesday" at Celebration Park from 5-7 p.m. tonight! Take the kids and grab a treat!

CP HISTORICAL SOC. ‘RESURRECTION’ WITH CEMETERY WALK ON SEPT. 20

After playing dead for more than six months because of the pandemic, the Center Point Historical Society is planning to come to life with the 10th annual Center Point Cemetery Walk on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at 4 p.m.Admission is $5. Masks are required. Lawn chairs are suggested. Rain date will be the following Sunday, Sept. 27.This year’s honored dead are:Jim Sherman (1936-2007) insurance man and civic booster – portrayed by his grandson, Iowa State student Will Sherman.

Emergency Pet Food Pantry available at Better Together Animal Rescue

Thank you to everyone who has donated funding towards our emergency pet food pantry. We currently have plenty of food and will post if there are any future needs.The hours of the pantry will be Monday-Thursday 5:30-7:00 pm while supplies last. We will be [st] up BEHIND Better Together Animal Rescue (211 West 4th St, Vinton). Please pull in the alley and we will assist you as best we can.

Brandon painting project to take place on Sunday, August 16

AMVETS seek community support during fundraising event next Friday thru Sunday

The AMVETS will have their food trailer up and running and will be cooking at Hy-Vee Fresh Friday through Sunday, August 21-23 starting around 10:30 a.m.This is going to be the fundraiser for the Scholarship Program in our area.  As always, it is free will donation.   The menu includes soda, chips, and sandwich – burger, brat,  or hot dog.  Our community support is appreciated.
